The Music of Petrichoria

Petrichoria is set on a mystical island where a quaint village is home to a variety of unique characters and richly detailed environments. As part of the team at Code Cozy, my primary role is audio production and implementation.

For this project, I’ve been responsible for composing the full soundtrack and creating an immersive audio experience that complements the game’s cozy and magical tone. All music has been composed using Ableton Live, paired with the Push 2 controller. My workflow includes a combination of stock Ableton tools and third-party plugins—primarily from Native Instruments—to shape a rich, layered soundscape.

Beyond music composition, I’ve contributed sound design for creatures, characters, and combat, helping bring the world to life through audio. While the game mainly utilizes static music, I’m also exploring opportunities to implement adaptive music systems, especially during combat and in multi-level environments, to heighten player immersion.

This internship has given me the opportunity to stretch creatively, apply technical skills in real-world development, and grow as an audio designer in the collaborative world of indie games.
