Demeter Colony

UI with purpose. Audio with presence.

HUD Redesign

While my primary focus lies in game design and audio, this project allowed me to contribute meaningfully to both visual and sonic aspects of development. My time on Demeter Colony was split between redesigning the HUD from the ground up and crafting immersive sound design for various in-game creatures.

On the UI side, I led the redesign of the game’s HUD, rethinking its structure and aesthetics to better support gameplay clarity within the sci-fi setting. With a strong foundation in Adobe tools and years of branding experience, I developed a cleaner and more intuitive interface. You can view before and after comparisons of the redesign directly on this page. Though the game was ultimately shelved before implementation, the project sharpened my eye for player experience and taught me a great deal about UI fundamentals in Unreal Engine 5.

Creature Sound Design

In tandem with UI development, I worked on the early sound design for Demeter Colony’s alien ecosystem. Using Ableton Live and custom layering techniques, I created unique audio for creatures—including vocalizations, movement cues, and environmental interactions—that deepened player immersion. These sound assets were designed to serve gameplay feedback while enhancing atmosphere and storytelling.

You can hear samples of my creature sound design work in the demo video available on this page.
